I just received my Simplisafe system and am trying to get it installed. I plugged in the base station and that turned on just fine. Turned on the keypad, but it will not connect to the base station. I've tried removing the batteries from both the keypad and the base station but it still will not connect.Not as much of an impact, but if the Keypad is getting low on battery power, that could weaken the range a little bit. The closer you get to the expected 8-12 month battery life, the more likely this is. If you're not getting a warning about any other components, then the rest of your system should still be fully functional.

It does not look like it is trying to load to me, it used to be pretty consistent if a little slow at times - but I've had this complete lack of sync on several occasions recently. I parked the keypad right next to the base station. I tried it 6 times and each failed. I even unplugged the base station and put it right next to my wifi router with the keypad. Failed there also. I had the same problem with original Simplisafe. I rebooted the base station. Took the batteries out of the fobs for > 2 minutes then replaced them. One worked, one didn't. Turns out the "new" battery was not so new. The keyfob also immediately communicates with base station. No setup or intervention necessary.

Hi @bubblestdh,. From what you describe, your Keypad is currently totally unresponsive. One thing that you could try is to take out the batteries one more time, and then leave them out for 5 minutes (to let the power clear out totally).
